Meet the Team

John Van Wingerden
Hi, my name is John, I am the owner of Safety’s Off. I started the company back in 2012 as a hobby, from there we've grown into a full-scale service. I have been hunting since I was 14 years old and made it my mission to be the best. From jump shooting ponds and ditches with my friends to dedicating countless hours to scouting, planning, prepping hunts, and upgrading our spread every year. We are Safety's Off Guide Service and we cant wait to share the blind with you this season!

Kaiden VanDalen
Waterfowl hunting has been a passion of mine since I’ve been old enough to hunt. I started off jump-shooting ponds and creeks full of mallards behind my house as a young child, and it evolved to the pursuit of decoying ducks and geese over decoy spreads.
Over the 16 years of waterfowl hunting I have done I have always pursued opportunities to decoy geese and ducks in wheat and corn fields when I can get the birds close enough to pick out the aluminum bands that shimmer on the birds legs while the birds touch down in the decoy spread.

Shane Treloar
Hey all my name is Shane Treloar. I have been hunting waterfowl with John (owner) since the very beginning of inception of Safety's Off Guide Service. The experience we have gained over the season passed and the insight we provide to create an unforgettable hunting adventure for everyone that take a spot in our blind is what we cherish and thrive off of. Our goal from the start was to show others what it's like to appreciate and love this pastime we share. Seeing a young child's face light up when they see their first group of birds gliding into a spread, or the crooked smile of a weathered sportsman when we pull birds from the skies like there on a string, will always keep the fire within us lit.

I can go on and say my favorite picturesque hunt is a slow motion back spinning honker settling down on an icy riverbank, but in reality, my favorite time in a blind is watching not birds fold above a spread, but the overjoyed smiles that come after it. The high fives, jokes and hugs during every moment of a hunt are what makes each one memorable and worth it.
