2024/2025 MID SEASON UPDATE

Hello friends,

We wanted to help keep people involved during the season and in doing so we will be offering a few blogs to keep record of our season and also allow others to see how we are doing.

Nov - significant amounts of precipitation. Flooded a lot of fields and had the Nooksack river on the verge of spilling over the dike. We didn't see as many birds as we were hoping, nor did we see any significant dips in temperature. With this we were able to connect on a few good hunts but nothing near the amount we were expecting. Very slow, mild bird movement and not a lot of good weather events.

Dec - We're still making our way through the month and have yet to see any cold fronts move in. With our offseason prep of planting corn and having corn left up for us we are not seeing a return on investment yet. With that, its still fairly mild weather, some precipitation and definitely a large number of birds present but they continue to feed nocturnally and leaving before first light. We are anticipating some sort of weather event by the end of December but so far, we are very comparative to last year this time both on weather and harvest count. Nothing to be impressed by but we are making every shot count and putting in the work to find the ground that has birds actively working during the day.

Thank you, we hope this is helpful information. God bless and keep those barrels warm this season!

Sincerely.

John Van Wingerden
